Pottery Intensive Workshop - 3 days

This 3-day intensive pottery launchpad is the perfect introduction to wheel throwing. Make this part of your summer vacation or take a long weekend and start your pottery journey. Beginning on day one, participants will learn to centre, open, and pull a cylinder, which is the basis of most vase forms. On day two, you will explore bowl forms and practice, practice, practice. Trimming and practical modifications to your vessels will be introduced. Day three, will be about attachments and decoration techniques that will turn your pieces into beautiful, functional pottery. 16+ A small class size and our experienced instructors will ensure a successful start to your clay journey. All pieces made during class will be glazed and ready for pick up within 2 weeks. Michelle has been making pottery for many years, beginning at Seneca College, Toronto, and including classes in Yellowknife, Alberta, and Haliburton. She has been teaching high school at Bruce Peninsula District School most of her career. She is pleased to share her love of pottery at the Georgian Bay Centre for the Arts. WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING 5 pots will be included with your course, additional pieces will cost $10 (+tax) each.
