Lest We Forget: Remembering the African Canadian Servicemen from Grey County - Fall Lecture Series

Lest We Forget is a testament to those young Black Grey County men who served their country during the conflicts of the 20th century. Faced with exclusionary and racist practices, their contributions to the war effort were largely unrecorded until now. Lest We Forget, presented by Bonita Johnson deMatteis, documents dozens of Black Grey County veterans, many with photographs and short biographies gathered from family members. The 2026 installment of our Fall Lecture Series, presented by East Court Residences, runs Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. from October 20 to November 10. These in-person lectures are held in the Thomas Wheildon Theatre. Complimentary refreshments following. Advance registration not required. Admission includes access to Grey Roots Museum & Archives. Grey Roots Members enjoy free admission.
