Classical Spring: Sonatas and Miniatures

The Festival Duo with violinist Sadie Fields and pianist Ken Gee return to Grace United Church Thornbury on Saturday May 30 at 3:30 pm. This special Spring program includes Beethoven’s Spring Sonata and some of duo’s favourite things from past concerts—Mozart’s E minor sonata, Lili Boulanger’s Nocturne and Cortège, and Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir d’un lieu cher (Méditation, Scherzo, Mélodie). One sitting with no intermission. This concert will not be performed anywhere else. Admission ($40 adult, $20 child/student) includes the video replay of the Festival Trio concert taking place in Guelph Musicfest on Friday May 29. Sadie and Ken are joined by new cellist Katie Schlaikjer (from the Penderecki Quartet). Katie was unable to come to Thornbury so Sadie & Ken decided to present this separate special recital. But you still get to enjoy the Festival Trio online in HD video and great stereo sound for 7 days!
