A Taste of the Middle East-Flatbreads and Spice Blending Inspired by Tradition
Explore Middle Eastern Flatbreads and aromatic spice blends through a hands-on experience as we cook our way towards a communal feast During this hands-on experience, each guest will knead up their own batch of dough that they'll take home and plan to use at any point in the next 5 days. Once the doughs are elasticky and smooth and relaxing in the fridge, we'll get to work rolling and shaping dough that has been previously prepared, and use it for 2 different applications: Pide and Lahmacun. Pide is a sort of Turkish Pizza made in the shape of a boat. Lahmacun is also considered a type of Turkish Pizza and relies heavily on a warm spice blend to really bring it to life! Both are quite different from each other, but delicious all the same. While we're rolling and filling and baking our Flatbreads inspired by the Middle East, we'll also talk through different spices, the benefit of sourcing them as fresh as possible, and then get to work mixing up your own custom spice blend to take home. We'll finish up our time together by coming together for a communal feast with the delicious items we have created, and a few others that complement the spread. You'll head home with: :: A recipe booklet with all of the recipes that we create together in the workshop plus a few extra :: A batch of dough that can be used to recreate the experience any time in the next 5 days, or freeze it for future flavourful meals :: Your own custom spice blend
