Value is everything
A great festival is more than just a strong headliner. It's the magic that happens between sets, the artists you stumble upon, the friends you meet, and the memories you take home. Summerfolk has spent more than five decades refining that formula, packing in as much value as possible and ensuring there's something for every generation of festivalgoer.
A weekend ticket includes 30+ evening performances across two stages and 40+ daytime performances. Nearly 50 artisans bring the Artisan Village to life with a stunning array of beautifully crafted goods, and 20 vendors offer delicious foods ranging from frosty snow cones to Mexican street corn – yum! Visit the Family Village to find great programs for youngsters, all at no charge. Speaking of youngsters, admission is completely free - all weekend - for guests up to 13 years old, and just $69 for guests 14-18.
Volunteers deserve all the love
While Summerfolk is a music and crafts festival, where talented performers and artists both share the spotlight, it’s the dedication of volunteers that keeps the festival running smoothly. These tireless, community-minded folks look after countless tasks, before, during, and after the festival. When you spot a volunteer at Summerfolk (and you’ll spot many), be sure to give them a smile and a thank you – they deserve all the love.
Volunteers are rewarded with full weekend access to the festival with 12 hours service, plus a stylish t-shirt and more. If you love community, music, or good times with great friends, consider attending the festival as a volunteer!

Vibes matter
The above are both essential parts of the experience, but without the right vibe a festival can just feel … off. Fortunately, in the case of Summerfolk, the vibes are completely on point. For a fest that sprawls across 15 acres along the beautiful Georgian Bay shoreline, Summerfolk feels like a truly close-knit, welcoming, community.
This community spirit will be on display on Thursday, August 20, during Coming Home. This pre-festival concert celebrates the many talented artists who call this area home. With admission by donation, Coming Home is open to absolutely anyone who wants to start their festival weekend off right. Doors are at 6:00 pm, with music starting at 7:30.
Starting off the festival with a free concert which invites performers and attendees alike to “come home” is exactly the sort of warm, community-first approach that makes Summerfolk so special. 51 years in, the Summerfolk Music and Crafts Festival has proven that a truly great festival is about more than what’s on stage, it’s about creating a space where all are welcome, where community truly comes first, and where memories live on long after the music has faded.
