Iron Works Art Centre

The Ironworks Arts Centre was developed specifically as a host facility to showcase art and for the production and presentation of entertaining programs, seminars and workshops. At the turn of this century, Michael Pocock purchased the property. Then, with the support of the community and the Town of the Blue Mountains, Michael dedicated finances and time to develop the grounds and the building's physical structure. From its inception, the Ironworks Arts Centre was intended to be a community keystone. Today, having transformed what was once a very utilitarian space into an intimate and unique venue which showcases artists from the region and serves as a stunning backdrop to a variety of public events, private events and fun workshops. Through a practice that bridges traditional craftsmanship and contemporary technique, Michael B. Pocock creates large-scale steel sculptures that explore themes of resilience, tension, and the human experience. Michael works collaboratively with clients to develop bespoke pieces—ranging from intricate details to monumental installations—that transform homes, corporate environments, and public landscapes. His approach combines an intimate understanding of metal with innovative fabrication, ensuring each sculpture serves as a lasting, dynamic focal point for its environment.
